Terms you can actually read.

Measrd is built and operated by Measrd LLC, an Indiana limited liability company. “Measrd,” “we,” and “us” mean that company. These terms cover measrd.com and the apps we run under it: currently Balanced, Lightbulb, Echo, and Tripped, each at its own *.measrd.com address, all sharing one Measrd account.

By creating an account or using the apps, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use them. No hard feelings. Questions go to mtthw@measrd.com and a person answers.

One account works across every Measrd app. Keep your email current. It’s how you sign in and how we reach you about anything that matters. You’re responsible for what happens under your account, so don’t share access to it. You must be at least 18 to use Measrd; these apps hold adult reflections and paid subscriptions, and they’re built for adults.

Everything you write in a Measrd app belongs to you. You give us only the narrow license we need to run the service: to store your content, show it back to you (and to the people each app’s own rules say can see it), and process it for features you deliberately invoke. That’s the whole grant. We claim no ownership, we don’t use your content for marketing, and we don’t train AI models on it.

Some features are explicitly AI-shaped: a ritual generated from your last one, a synthesis of a day’s writing, a shared story told from many voices. When you invoke one, the relevant words are sent to our AI provider to produce what you asked for, and the result is stored like anything else you made. These features are always disclosed where they happen, they run only when you ask, and their output can be imperfect, so treat it as a mirror, not an oracle.

Paid access is a subscription billed through Stripe. It renews on the cycle you chose — monthly or yearly — until you cancel; cancel anytime and your access runs to the end of the period you’ve paid for. We don’t do dark patterns: canceling is as easy as subscribing, and if something went wrong with a charge, email us and a human will make it right. We’d rather refund a month than argue about one.

While we’re building, some or all features may be free. Free access during the building is a courtesy, not a promise that it stays free; if a price applies to something you use, you’ll know before you pay it, and price changes reach you by email before they reach your card.

Don’t use Measrd to do unlawful things or to harm people. Don’t probe, bypass, or interfere with the privacy boundary. It protects everyone’s words, including yours. Don’t scrape, spam invitations, or resell access. If an account is used to break these rules, we can suspend or close it; where it’s reasonable to warn first, we will.

Portability is a promise here, not a feature request. Your data lives in plain, well-named database tables, and if you want it, just ask. You’ll get it in an ordinary, portable format. Deleting one product revokes only that product’s access and removes or de-identifies its separable authored records. It does not delete your shared Measrd identity, another product, or the shared Stripe customer unless the product says so explicitly. Whole-account deletion is a separate operator-assisted request from your account; it removes sign-in and access to every product, subject to payment-record retention, shared-space rules, and the encrypted-backup handling described in the privacy policy. Where an app holds genuinely shared spaces (a couple’s revealed rituals, a shared echo), the app’s own rules say what remains for the people you shared them with.

Measrd is a small company that takes durability seriously. The database can rewind to any two-minute point in the last week, encrypted backups leave the building nightly and are test-restored nightly, and independent monitors watch every app. We still can’t promise perfection, so legally: the service is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, and our total liability to you is capped at the greater of $100 or what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn’t allow us to limit.

These terms are governed by Indiana law. If we ever end up in a real dispute, we’ll try good-faith conversation first; failing that, the state and federal courts located in Indiana have exclusive jurisdiction, and we each waive any right to a jury trial or class action to the extent the law allows.

When these terms change, the date at the top changes with them, and material changes are announced by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Measrd after that means you accept the new terms. Anything to ask or dispute: mtthw@measrd.com, Measrd LLC, Indiana, USA.
