An 8 mm plate with the interlock joinery, one folded 49-pixel run laid in a serpentine channel, contacts on its edges that meet the next panel through the seam, and a clear lid with a lens over every pixel. Four magnets under the lid hold the face.
The plan is to bench-test and serialize each Base before sale. The panels are designed to slide in from the right and click, with the wiring enclosed.
