An 8 mm plate with the interlock joinery, one folded 49-pixel run laid in a serpentine channel, contacts on its edges that meet the next panel through the seam, and a clear lid with a lens over every pixel. Four magnets under the lid hold the face.

Bases are stocked ahead of orders and serialized after a bench test. Panels slide in from the right and click. You never touch a wire.
